I created this portfolio site for my own fine art and illustration. EarthSkyArt is the sister site to this one, and I wanted the two sites to have a shared name but individual branding. For this design I created lucent, richly-coloured illustrations that give an impression of three-dimensional depth. The graphics incorporate images of starcharts, globes and astrolabe diagrams. Galaxies, stars and the cosmos all inhabit the physical world, but are favourite focusses of religion and myth. The goal was to bring out the fantastical elements in my artwork, and the tension between nature and supernature.

I created this skin for Digital Craftsmen. The brief was to produce a design based closely on the Biking Needs website, but with the colours changed to match those of a well-known tabloid newspaper. I produced a new logo in the style of the Biking Needs brand, templates for homepage and two subpages (including breadcrumb navigation), and I developed the pages in XHTML and CSS for integration with the Digital Craftsmen CMS.

The designs have been approved by the client, but the back-end development is still in process, and the website is currently awaiting launch.

Website design for a client of Online Galleries. The client wanted a simple, contemporary design incorporating pale blue and grey tones. I created a typographical logo for the company based on their specifications, which then formed the basis of the header graphic. The homepage template was refined slowly over numerous drafts, resulting in this clean, modern design featuring a linen texture and silver gradients.

A design-only project for Online Galleries, in which I created several homepage concepts for an art and antiques dealer who had never had a website before. The client therefore did not have a clear brief for the site design, but they specified a particular shade of blue, serif fonts, and a elegant, genteel aesthetic. This design is my favourite of the three drafts which were sent to the client for approval. Drawing from the type and period of antiques that the client deals in, the graphics incorporate mirroring, Georgian picture frames, and a William Morris wallpaper pattern.

I worked with Online Galleries to create this website for a client who gave a very open-ended brief. In the chosen design, I strove to create a delicate, historical feel using clockwork imagery and translucent layers. Once the colour palette and homepage design were finalised, I created templates for several subpages, and developed the site for integration with the Online Galleries CMS. The website was launched several months ago, but the client has not yet uploaded any content.

I was contracted by Online Galleries to create two HTML 4.0 templates for their monthly newsletter. One design was for existing clients of the company (shown above), the other was a promotional mailout for interested parties. In compliance with e-mail accessibility the design contained minimal graphical elements, and both designs functioned as text-only pages.

This website was commissioned by a registered charity dedicated to education and personal development. The client wanted a fresh design that incorporated the charity's existing branding, and visually represented their therapeutic ethos. I chose warm, earthy colours, and selected an informal, friendly font for the header image. The site graphics were created from photographs sent by the client, aiming for a restful, outdoorsy feel.

This website was commissioned by a bed & breakfast in Oxford who wanted to expand their online presence from a text-only, single page site. I aimed to create a chic design based on muted tones. The client selected the blue colour scheme from a choice of ten palettes. I created header and footer graphics from photographs of the client's premises, and used the hollybush in the company name to create branding for the website.
