I undertook the re-branding for this client of
Online Galleries prior to designing their website. They wanted a typographical logo incorporating lower-case sans-serif lettering, with a clean, contemporary feel.

This logo design for an amateur dramatic Shakespeare society was a challenging project. I sought input from every member of the group in the initial brainstorm session, drawing up a detailled design brief which I then worked from to create a brand. The aim was to create an appealing t-shirt design which would also serve as a logo on stationery and printed materials. The finished design was approved by group consensus, and incorporates graphical elements representing the three theatrical events hosted by the group so far:
The Histories (a Tudor Rose),
Masquerade (theatre masks) and
Classical Shakespeare. The symbols also allude to the four typical divisions of the Shakespearean corpus into histories, tragedies, comedies and Greek and Roman plays.

While working with Online Galleries to create a website for this client, I started from rejected logo samples to re-brand the company identity. I produced several drafts, aiming to communicate the fine precision of clockwork, and a dark, historical elegance.

I worked with Online Galleries to create an email template for their company newsletter. HTML 4.0 was required for compatibility with most email clients, and images were kept to a minimum. elements. The design therefore developed a strong typographical theme using CSS styling, and I reconceptualised the typographical company brand to create a fresh, contemporary header graphic.
